On This Day In Country Music History:

1933 – Country Music Hall of Fame member, Roy Clark, is born in Meherrin, Virginia.

1963 – Five weeks after her tragic plane crash. Patsy Cline’sSweet Dreams (Of You)” is released by Decca.

1981 – “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It For The World” is recorded by Ronnie Milsap.

1989Dolly Parton is host and musical guest on “Saturday Night Live”. She would sing “Why’d You Come In Here Lookin’ Like That“.

1996Clay Walker is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. At the time he was told he would be wheelchair bound in four years, dead by 8. Thankfully, the doctor was wrong!

1999Vince Gill is rear-ended in Nashville, causing a 3-car pile up. While the paper work is getting filled out. The driver who hit Vince, hands him a tape hoping that he would record one of his songs!

2004 – The music video for Big & Rich’s “Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)” is shoot throughout the streets of Nashville. Included in the video were Gretchen Wilson, Gary Chapman and the Atlanta Falcon cheerleaders!

2008Lady Antebellum releases their debut album on Capitol!
